Surabaya, Indonesia – In a significant step towards strengthening its international academic collaboration, the Doctoral Program in Mathematics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), held a closed doctoral dissertation defense on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Namirah Fatmanisa, S.Pd., M.Pd. (Student ID: 21070936027), presented her dissertation entitled “Mathematical Justification of Senior High School Students in Collaborative Problem Solving on the Topic of Derivative.” Her research explores the depth of students’ mathematical reasoning in collaborative settings—an area of growing global interest in mathematics education research.

A key highlight of the defense was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Hutkemri, Ph.D., from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, was the external examiner. His participation enriched the academic discussion and underscored Unesa’s commitment to fostering global perspectives and scholarly exchange.
